Skender Recognized as Finalist for Prestigious GC of the Year Awards in Both Chicago and Indianapolis

Skender, a leading general contractor with offices in Chicago and Indianapolis, has been named a finalist for the 2025 General Contractor of the Year Award by both the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards and the Indiana Subcontractors Association (ISA). These recognitions highlight Skender’s excellence in construction project management, quality, ethics, field staff strength, safety and trade partner collaboration.
In Chicago, Skender has a strong history of recognition at the Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards, having previously won Interior Contractor of the Year in 2024, 2022, 2018, 2016, and 2015. This year, two Skender projects are also being honored: Fifth City Commons is a finalist in Community Impact Project of the Year, and the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s Nourish Project is being recognized for Special Achievement of the Year.
In Indianapolis, Skender’s growth has been rapid since it entered the market in 2020, and for the second consecutive year, ISA has named Skender a finalist for its highest honor, GC of the Year. Last year, Skender was also a finalist for Indiana GC of the Year in the Midwest Real Estate News Awards and winner of a project-of-the-year award by the ISA. Skender’s expansion in Indianapolis has been driven by a 400% increase in project volume from 2022 to 2024, prompting the company to relocate to a larger office. The firm’s focus on long-term relationship building and its diverse portfolio of projects continues to fuel its success.
