Skender Reaches Exterior Construction Milestone at Lurie Children’s New Schaumburg Outpatient Center

Skender, as general contractor, recently celebrated the completion of the exterior construction of Lurie Children’s new Schaumburg Outpatient and Infusion Center. Located at 1895 Arbor Glen Blvd, the center represents a major expansion of healthcare services for children and their families in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
Leadership and board members from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago gathered onsite to celebrate the project reaching the “watertight” milestone, signifying that all exterior walls and roof systems are sealed to protect against water penetration. This milestone marks the transition to the final phase of construction, with teams moving forward on interior finishes, exterior paving, and landscaping. Final completion is set for June 2025.
The new 75,000-square-foot outpatient center will bring state-of-the-art pediatric care closer to families in the northwest suburbs. Services will include ancillary and diagnostic care, orthotics and prosthetics, a full-service laboratory and pharmacy, and an ambulatory infusion center designed to accommodate future growth.
The project is being realized through the collaboration of an experienced team, including HKS as the architect, Skender as the general contractor, IMEG Corp. as the structural and mechanical engineers, and V3 Companies as the civil engineers.
